Alena Akhmadullina summer 2010
I always look forward to Akhmadulina's Paris show. Here is what Hilary Alexander, the Telegraph's fashion director, wrote about the event: "The young, St Petersburg-born designer, Alena Akhmadullina, took inspiration from Janai Lowenstein’s book, “The Secrets Inside Copper Mountain”, for a series of eclectic and mysterious prints in her spring/summer 2010 collection.
Multi-coloured, maxi-dresses, tunics and trousers were patterned with demon’s faces, ram’s horns, salamanders, strange creatures of the deep, and fantastical fauna and flora. Grey-and-white and black-and-white leggings featured images of dragons and flowers.
The fantasy theme was echoed in a silver ‘mermaid’ mini and a gold bodysuit, hand-embroidered with ‘fish-scale’ sequins, and finished with white chiffon “wings”.
The legendary French actor, Alain Delon, was a surprise front-row guest."
I liked the collection very much!
